HOYS 2025, Here We Come Jerry!
If you’ve been following Jerry’s journey, you’ll know 2024 was nothing short of spectacular. It was an unbelievable year for our cheeky 14.2hh Welsh Cob, who had only started his showjumping career a year earlier after a TikTok video of Maddie jumping him went viral and we quickly realised Jerry’s extraordinary ability. Known to his fans on social media as ‘Jerry Airlines’ for his incredible scope and airtime over fences, he’s been flying high ever since.
With his amazing 2024 rider, Aimee Paxton, Jerry, aka Madoghill Goronwy, stormed into the spotlight, winning the National Discovery Final at Stoneleigh and claiming his place among the elite by finishing TOP 10 in both the Newcomer and Foxhunter Championship Finals at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). The commentator even remarked that “it was like watching Formula 1 on horseback”, and honestly, with Jerry’s speed, precision, and sheer determination, we couldn’t agree more.
And who could forget that moment? Jerry was so overjoyed at HOYS prize-giving that he pranced his way into the arena like he owned the place! The social media reel of his victory strut has been viewed by nearly 20 million people worldwide. Our boy went viral again!
A New Chapter for 2025
This year, there’s a fresh partnership as Jerry has taken to the ring with his talented new rider, Ella Kay. And we are beyond proud to announce that Jerry and Ella have qualified for the Blue Chip Newcomers Final AND the Foxhunter Final at HOYS 2025!
And here’s where it gets extra exciting… Team Jerryco will be trading at HOYS this year, with our stand right near the HOYS merchandise store! So you can watch Jerry and Ella from the stands and then pop over to see us in person.
On competition day, Ella will be sporting our Jerryco Competition Set, the dazzling Las Vegas Show Shirt and Olympia Breeches, and we are certain the crowd will be bedazzled as she and Jerry canter through those prestigious purple curtains into the iconic HOYS arena. We can already picture the sparkle.
Jerry’s Day-to-Day Life
It’s not all glitz and glory though, success is built in the everyday moments and all the hard work behind the scenes from the riders, their parents, family, friends and trainers who make it possible. Jerry’s training programme is a careful balance of hacking, schooling and showjumping training.
And whatever discipline he’s tackling, Jerry always wears one of our Jerryco Saddle Pads for the perfect fit, technical performance and unmistakable style.
